The Municipality of the City of Dobrich was represented at the ACES 2025 GALA forum, organized by ACES Europe – European Capitals and Cities of Sport. The event was held at the European Parliament building in Brussels and brought together representatives of European institutions, local authorities, and sports organizations from European Union member states. The municipality’s participation was in its capacity as a nominee for “European City of Sport” and represents international recognition of the consistent local policy in the field of sport, physical activity, and the promotion of a healthy lifestyle, as well as of the investments made in sports infrastructure and programs for grassroots and school sports.
The forum provided opportunities for institutional dialogue and the exchange of good practices with European cities and organizations working in the fields of sport, public health, and social inclusion. Within the framework of the discussions, policies and initiatives aimed at the sustainable development of local communities through sport and an active lifestyle were examined.
ACES Europe is an independent, non-profit organization headquartered in Brussels and a recognized partner of the European Commission. It annually awards the titles “European Capital of Sport,” “European City of Sport,” and other distinctions focused on the social role of sport, equal access to physical activity, and the improvement of quality of life.
The presence of the Municipality of the City of Dobrich at ACES 2025 GALA reinforces the local authority’s commitment to implementing European policies and standards in the fields of sport and public health, as well as to developing international partnerships and initiatives.
The Municipality of Dobrich will continue to work purposefully to establish sport as a strategic tool for social cohesion, the prevention of health risks, and the sustainable development of the local community.
